Landford Village Hall

Ever since Landford Village Hall was opened in 1993, it has proved its suitability for indoor sports as well as for social events. It is used for badminton, short mat bowls, martial arts, gymnastics, cheerleading, pilates, yoga, a painters group, the annual Christingle services, as well as for events of all kinds. Landford Village Hall is located 11 miles from Salisbury, on the edge of the New Forest. The venue comprises the main hall and servery, the viewing gallery and two separate meeting rooms which are available for hire. Hire rates and terms can be viewed on the Hall Hire page.

Landford village hall is a registered charity (1054017) and run by a committee of volunteers.

HALL FACILITIES

MAIN HALL & SERVERY

A large space with a capacity of 300 people seated comfortably with a high ceiling and viewing gallery overlooking the main hall. The main hall also has a servery for preparing tea, coffee and light refreshments.

Ideal for indoor sports, larger gatherings and children’s parties.

PRESTON ROOM

The Preston Room is an upstairs meeting space (in the main hall building) with a maximum capacity of 50 people seated. The meeting toom has chairs, tables and a kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities. Crockery can be provided on request.

Ideal for meetings and workshops.

Blue Room

A self-contained meetng space with its own entrance and toilet facilities, with a maximum capacity of 60 people seated. The Blue Room has chairs, tables and a kitchenette for preparing hot drinks. Crockery can be provided on request.

How can I find Landford Village Hall?

Which rooms are available to hire and what are your rates?

Landford Village Hall comprises the main hall and servery, an upstairs viewing gallery and two separate meeting rooms: the Preston Room and the Blue Room. For more information about our facilities, please visit the Facilities page.

Hire Rates:

  • Main Hall: £15 per hour
  • Preston Room: £10 per hour
  • Blue Room: £10 per hour

Is parking available at the hall?

Parking is available outside the hall, including a disabled parking bay. The hall committee politely requests that hall users do not park in Brookside (adjacent to Lyndhurst Road) as this is for Brookside residents only.

Is Landford Village Hall suitable for children's birthday parties?

Landford Village Hall is an excellent venue for birthday parties for all age groups. The hall has plenty of space for several bouncy castles and other inflatables and can also be used for disco parties.

 

Does Landford Village Hall have a bar or alcohol licence?

The hall not does have a licensed bar or alcohol licence. If you intend to serve alcohol at a private party or function at the hall, please advise us at the time of your booking.

Those wishing to serve alcohol at an event or private function will need to apply to Wiltshire Council for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).

It costs £21 to apply for a TEN and you will need to apply at least 10 clear working days before your planned event or party. Clear working days do not include the day the council receives your application or the day of the event.

Is the hall licenced for music and performing arts?

Landford Village Hall is fully licensed for live/recorded music and the performing arts.

Is Landford Village Hall suitable for disabled people, including wheelchair users?

The Main Hall is fully accessible to disabled people (including wheelchair users). The main hall has a dedicated disabled parking space and there is a toilet with disabled access. There are disabled toilets in the entrance foyer of the Blue Room on the ground floor, however access to the Blue Room itself is by stairs only.

The Blue and Preston meeting rooms are currently only accessible by stairs.

What are the opening hours for Landford Village Hall?

Landford Village Hall is open between 08:00 – Midnight 7 days a week.

For Weekend events (Friday/Saturday night) the hall can remain open until 01:00.

We do not currently accept bookings via email.

Does the hall have catering facilities?

Landford Village Hall does not have extensive catering facilities and is unsuitable for catered events which require food to be cooked and served on the premises. Aside from light refreshments, any food consumed at the hall should be pre-prepared.

The Main Hall has a servery with a domestic cooker and small fridge which is ideal for preparing light refreshments, as well as tea, coffee and cold drinks.

The Preston and Blue meeting rooms each have a small kitchenette for hot and cold drinks. There are no cooking or food preparation facilities in the meeting rooms.

What type of indoor sport is suitable for the hall?

Landford Village Hall is a popular venue for a variety of indoor sports and exercise groups including badminton, table tennis, short mat bowls, trampolining, martial arts and cheerleading. 

The hall can be used for indoor football for young children only, for older children and adults there is an outdoor pitch which can be hired by contacting the Parish Clerk.
